Munu Hicken-Gaberria, Founder & CEO
Munu is an established entrepreneur with 23 years of UK retail experience, a degree in industrial design as well as an MBA. Upon immigrating to Canada in 2006, Munu focused his energy and experience into the green economy. As a result, LFT Group and the Live for Tomorrow brand was born. Munu is responsible for sales, new product development and product regulatory matters. He is a former member of the Port Moody City Council Economic Development Committee and Environmental Committee, as well as the Review Panel for Seeds Business Development Centre.
Upon first arriving in Canada and driving the Sea-to-Sky highway to Whistler, Munu was awestruck by the surrounding natural beauty, which he found somewhat reminiscent of his birthplace, Tanzania. It was this experience that solidified his decision to make Vancouver his new home and sparked his desire to establish a business that will help protect the planet.
Keena Hicken-Gaberria, VP Operations
Keena is a strategic leader with over 25 years of business experience with proven ability to be adaptive and creative; she enjoys stepping up to a challenge and mastering it. A forward-thinking leader, who excels at tactical execution. Keena utilizes an uncompromising set of qualifications, (CPA, PMP, and CFE), to guide LFT’s day to day operations which includes: logistics, resourcing, risk management and financial matters; as well as strategic planning. Keena sits on the Board of Orca Sand & Gravel LLP; serves the community as a mentor of the Leaders of Tomorrow Program, is a former Board member of the Port Moody Arts Centre Society and a former member of the Port Moody City Council Economic Development Committee.
Keena’s happy place is spending time in the outdoors – either in the woods or on the water. After years of competitive sailing, Keena enjoys the thrill of a challenge. Making this world a better place is one challenge that she is committed to tackling head-on.
Nicole Ilich, Marketing Team Lead
Nicole earned a reputation for business integrity over 11 successful years in media sales, publishing and public relations. A creative marketing solutions strategist, she is experienced in working with large multi-national brands and start-ups alike. Nicole enjoys developing content and custom tailoring media plans utilizing traditional & social media elements married with smart vendor partnerships. Her desired goal is to raise brand awareness and increase engagement with consumer audiences. Educated at Simon Fraser University (SFU), Nicole also served on the SFU Alumni Board of Directors. Community minded, Nicole gives back to a number of charitable and civic organizations. Most recently, Nicole served on gala and golf tournament committees for the Richmond Hospital Foundation.
As a young woman, Nicole told her parents she would “never work for a company that didn’t serve a positive purpose”. Little did she know she’d one day end up working with a brand whose tagline is “Clean with a Purpose.” Kizmet? We like to think so.
